RESULTS OF THE 2003
CANADA-WIDE CRYSTAL GROWING COMPETITION

This was another record breaking year:
  • we set a new record for overall score of 80.5% surpassing last year’s record of 80.3%

    So we have reason to be proud of the accomplishments of all the participating students.

    In all, we received submissions from 12 different parts of the country.

    For the various sections around Canada, the following Tables list all the best crystals by School with Students' Names, crystal Weights, Quality Scores, Overall Scores, and Overall & Quality Rankings.

  • The first Table lists crystals entered in the Best Quality category.
  • The second lists crystals entered in the Best Overall category.
  • The final Table lists crystals submitted by Teachers

    Congratulations to all who participated and especially those whose crystals are represented here.

    A special thank you to Anachemia Science for providing the Rochelle Salt used in the contest, to the teachers who supervised their students, to the Chemical Institute of Canada volunteers who coordinated the contest in their local area, and to Dr. George FERGUSON of the Department of Chemistry, University of Guelph for assistance in judging the crystals.
